Take Note of your Hair Type

These are the basic types of hair — dry, oily, normal, or a combination of these kinds. Genetics is a factor behind hair type. If your parents have oily hair, you’ll probably have oily hair too. But don’t fret if your parents are known for their oily or dry type of hair. There are many hair care techniques that can help you deal with an oily, dry, normal, or combination type of hair.

Dealing with Oily Hair

If you have oily hair, avoid hair products that provide extra moisture as these may contain more oils. Because oily hair tend to get greasy even if you’ve shampooed your hair in the morning, you might need to wash your hair again later. But, avoid overwashing your hair because this may only lead to damage and breakage.

Dealing with Dry Hair

If your hair is dry, try to wash your hair fewer times in a week. You can also use hair products that contain moisturizing elements such as conditioners. Avoid using hair-styling products that contain harsh chemicals. As much as possible, don’t use hair-styling devices such as flat irons, blow dryers or curlers everyday.
